Katelyn Leighton
Founding Director & CEO
Katelyn brings over 6 years of experience working within the NDIS sector, providing face-to-face support to participants with complex physical and psychosocial disabilities.
She brings together professional and lived experience, giving her a strong grounding in psychosocial disability and recovery-focused support. Katelyn is known for her calm, practical, and down-to-earth approach, and is genuinely passionate about helping people build confidence, independence, and a more resilient and positive approach to everyday life.
She places a strong focus on participant safety and wellbeing, ensuring support is delivered in a way that is safe, respectful, and consistent. She values open, collaborative relationships with participants, families, support coordinators, and allied health professionals, and is committed to providing support that is centred around the individual and guided by safety, trust, and integrity.
In her spare time, Katelyn enjoys spending time with her family and attending live music events, theatre, and comedy shows.
Matt Angell
Co-Director
Matt brings 11 years of experience across the aged care and NDIS sectors, including eight years in leadership roles. His extensive experience includes health, safety and environment (HSE), compliance, project management and operational leadership.
In his role at Safe Star Supports, Matt works closely with the leadership team and staff to oversee the day-to-day operations of the organisation, with a strong focus on NDIS compliance, participant outcomes, service quality and operational efficiency.
Matt supports our team to deliver safe, consistent and person-centred services while maintaining effective operational systems and processes. He also plays an important role in ensuring Safe Star Supports continues to meet its obligations under the NDIS Practice Standards and relevant regulatory requirements.
With a strong focus on continuous improvement, Matt works collaboratively with staff to strengthen communication, accountability and service delivery across the organisation, helping ensure our participants receive high-quality and reliable support.
Matt has a strong passion for cricket and football, having previously played cricket at a high level and held various coaching roles. He also enjoys spending time with family and friends, keeping active and enjoying live music.

Safe Star Supports is owner-operated by Katelyn. As the team grows, we’ll introduce more of our management team here.
